The weather is warming up, and it’s the perfect time to get outside and set sail on an adventure. We may not be known for our beaches, but we do have some hidden gems throughout the state that are worthy of a road trip. This particular beach is a great option for a unique camping experience, and the best part is that you can drive right up to the water! Let’s check it out:
Located in Cameron Parish right on the Gulf of Mexico, Holly Beach is the perfect destination for some fun in the sun.
This area is known as the "Cajun Riviera" and it offers something for everyone.
Popular pastimes include crabbing, fishing, sea shelling, bird watching, swimming, and sunbathing.
It’s truly one of the best hidden gems in the state.
And since it's one of those beaches that only locals know about, there's a good chance you'll have it all to yourself.
Like many coastal towns, Holly Beach has had to rebuild several times after numerous hurricanes.
Hurricane Rita destroyed the area in 2005, and Hurricanes Gustav and Ike did extensive damage in 2008. However, the area has always managed to bounce back.
One of the best features about Holly Beach is that you can drive right up to the water!
You can also camp right on the beach for free! Bring your gear and get ready to have an unforgettable experience.
Spend your days hunting for sea shells and your evenings falling asleep to the soothing sounds of the waves crashing on the shore. Sounds like heaven, right?
While you're in the area, check out the Creole Nature Trail, Louisiana's own All-American Road. The 180-mile scenic drive will take you through some truly spectacular scenery.
