The Pelican State is full of incredible outdoor adventures, just waiting to be explored. From the beautiful bayous to the Kisatchie Forest, you'll never run out of things to do in Louisiana. But when you're looking to slow down a bit and enjoy a memorable evening, look no further than Cypremort Point State Park, where you can sit back, relax, and look to the skies as they paint a dazzling display of colors every evening at sunset. Let's check it out.
Cypremort Point State Park might be the most underrated state park in Louisiana.
Located right on the shores of Vermilion Bay, this tiny but mighty state park might only clock in at 185 acres, but don’t let its size fool you.
Set against a beautiful mash-up of both coastal marsh and beautiful bay, Cypremort Point State Park attracts countless visitors from all over the state.
Perfect for crabbing and fishing, Cypremort Point State Park is a fisherman’s paradise.
The 100-foot fishing pier is ideal for dropping a line, and there’s a boat launch nearby for anyone looking to take to the deeper Gulf waters.
For redfish, there's no better spot.
The park is also a popular location for sailing and swimming.
But one of the hidden gems of the park is the half-mile stretch of man-made beach.
It’s the perfect spot to sink your toes in the sand and listen to the sounds of the waves crashing onto the shore.
You'll feel as though you've been whisked away to a tropical island.
There are several picnic tables and outdoor grills nearby, so you can cook up that prized redfish and enjoy a delicious dinner before the sunsets.
Speaking of sunsets, you’ll want to stick around until dusk.
The sunsets over the water might just be the most beautiful in the state, and that’s saying something.
Find a spot on the beach, sit back, and relax and turn your eyes to the sky and watch as Mother Nature paints a dazzling color display of pinks, purples, oranges, and yellows.
Cypremort Point Is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. To learn more, check out its Facebook page.
