The Little-Known Salt Cave In Kentucky That Will Melt Your Worries Away

Our wonderful Bluegrass State is replete with beautiful natural places and hundreds of natural springs in Kentucky, but due to a lack of geothermal activity, we are not blessed with hot springs. So what do you do when you want to have a relaxing and healing experience? Salt caves in Kentucky are the answer! One of the best around is the Louisville Salt Cave in Kentucky.

Don’t let its strip mall location fool you. Once you walk into this magnificent place, you’ll be entering a world of healing and relaxation. Louisville Salt Cave opened in 2015 and locals have been flocking here to partake in salt therapy, otherwise known as halotherapy.

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by friendly staff and there are beautiful salt lamps available as well as several therapeutic remedies for sale. Essential oils, bath salts, infused sprays, and more are here for your healing needs.

When it’s time for your session, you’ll walk through this door into a cave made of five tons of Himalayan pink salt that is over 250 million years old. It contains 84 trace minerals and a halogenerator is used to diffuse the pure salt into the air.

This beautiful and relaxing space is kept at a cool 70 degrees and there are blankets, socks, and foot covers available. Sessions are generally done in groups and last 45 minutes, although private sessions can be booked for up to four people.

Group sessions at Louisville Salt Cave are generally $39 and private sessions are $111. Come rejuvenate your senses and enjoy a sense of well-being that will last for quite some time.
