Who doesn't love boating, fishing, and sunsets? Kansas's Wilson State Fishing Lake is a great destination for all sorts of outdoor summer fun. Add this spot to your summer bucket list and make sure you're all geared up for a great evening outdoors. Camping, anyone?
Welcome to Wilson State Fishing Lake, a beautiful area with plenty of fish to be had, is a fantastic place that is often overlooked due to name similarities.
Unlike Wilson Lake State Park up in Sylvan Grove, Wilson State Fishing Lake is hiding out in Buffalo, Kansas, where things are a bit quieter.
True to the name, this lake is great for fishing, especially if you like channel cat. Other than catfish, you'll find bass, crappie, bluegill, and redear.
We've really been missing the outdoors time with family, so it'll be nice to head out to enjoy a stress-free vacation out where we love it best - at the lake!
There are free campsites here, where you can stay up to a week. They have boat ramps, fire rings, picnic tables, restrooms, and even trash cans for your use. Sounds like a plan to me!
While you're out here, don't forget to explore some of the area around the lake.
Other than camping, the park itself is open from sunup to sundown. Make sure to add Wilson State Fishing Lake to your summer bucket list and enjoy the place!
