Explore One Of The Best Year-Round Hikes At Turkey Creek Streamway Trail In Kansas
Hiking always reconnects us with nature, and this beautiful hike is just one way to enjoy our state. If you haven't been through here before, this trek through Antioch Park is one of the best hikes in Kansas! Come check it out.
Today's adventure starts over at Antioch Park, a beautiful area of Overland Park, Kansas.
A beautiful 7.2 miles of out-and-back trail includes plenty to do and see, including a short waterfall, paved trail, and beauty in every season.
There's a cute little bridge, plenty of areas for bird watching, and only a small bit of elevation change. The changing seasons only make things more beautiful.
Statues of little creatures and lots of whimsical parts of this trail make it great for family outings, especially when you want to get out and stretch your legs on a road trip.
In the fall, all that tree cover turns beautiful shades of red, yellow, and orange and we can't get enough. Of course we have to give our foresty trails some love during autumn!
In the winter, you'll find snowy paths and the small waterfall covered in ice. Though the trail is best used from March until October, it's beautiful year round.
Dogs are allowed on leashes, and the trail works great for all ages. It's well maintained and decently wheelchair and stroller friendly.
