Overland Park Arboretum offers a beautiful, wheelchair-accessible fall hike with stunning foliage and an International Sculpture Garden.
Fall is here, and the cool weather only gets better as the leaves start to change. Then, when everything is in shades of yellow and orange, it really feels like fall. Good weather is an excellent excuse to get out and enjoy some fresh air, especially if you enjoy long walks in beautiful parks. This trail is under two miles, and perfect for a short fall hike.
Welcome to Overland Park Arboretum, a beautiful park with amazing views all around you.
Within the park, the International Sculpture Garden is an amazing place to have a short hike if you don't want to explore all four miles of the park path. The sculpture garden only needs 0.4 miles of footwork.
These amazing statues are brought here from all over, coming from artists of all shapes, sizes, and colors. Some of them are even interactive, with holes or poses that make it easy to take a picture with your favorite one.
The trail itself is rated as easy, and is wheelchair accessible with paved walkways.
This arboretum is a perfect place to visit during the fall, when colorful trees are the main attraction. Just look at those beautiful leaves! Maybe a thermos of hot cocoa is something I should bring on my next visit.
Of course, if you aren't tired after this trail, walking through the rest of the park is a great idea. There's plenty more to see, if this short trail gets you hooked.
