Summer is almost over and fall is ready to begin. For Kansans, this means you will want to spend as much time outdoors as possible because this upcoming winter in Kansas is expected to be cold — numbingly cold. Glacially cold. This year's Farmers' Almanac winter weather forecast predictions are in, and for fans who love the cold, you are going to be excited! For the rest of us, we better start shopping for some high-quality winter gear. Oof.
Whether we are ready or not, winter is going to be here before we know it.
Grab your coat and gloves as the Farmers' Almanac has nicknamed the 2022-2023 winter season the “Hibernation Zone.” The entire United States is expected to be cold — very, very, cold. But definitely HERE. Lucky us.
For more than 230 years, the Farmer’s Almanac has been predicting weather conditions around the United States and has an 80% accuracy rate. However, this year, they are predicting the upcoming winter will be one of the longest and coldest they’ve seen in years.
For us in Kansas, Farmers' Almanac is predicting that we will have more than our fair share of cold and flaky weather this winter.
In January, prepapre yourself for several storms that will bring large amounts of precipitation. Make sure you have your snow shovels ready!
In February, you can expect much milder weather, but don’t get too cozy as winter isn’t over yet (is it ever?).
It is predicted that we will see typical precipitation in March, but as the storms roll in, they’ll be big ones. It sounds like spring is going to be a welcomed sight!
March should go out like a lion, and bring in a lovely spring.
