Iowa's famous covered bridges were the star of a famous novel, and of course, the Clint Eastwood movie "Bridges of Madison County". While not every bridge is still standing, some are, and you can enjoy a hike across one at one of Iowa's most charming city parks.

Winterset is home to one of Iowa's famous Bridge of Madison County, and you can see it while you explore Winterset City Park.

The Cutler-Donahoe Bridge was built in 1870. It spanned the North River for one hundred years before moving to the park in 1970.

Today, you can walk across this piece of history on a hike through the park.

The park is home to other treasures worth seeing, too! Find the Clark Tower Trail and wind your way to a famous castle lookout tower.

The climb to the top is easy - and from there, you'll be able to see for miles! Look out over Iowa's countryside and take it all in.

There's even a pioneer cabin, too. It was built in 1852 and seeing it up close is like peeking back to the past.

Finally, you can't let a day in Winterset City Park go by without wandering through the hedge labyrinth! The sundial in the middle is beautiful.
