If you've ever traveled through Columbus Junction, you've probably heard of the town's swinging bridge.

This gorge crossing was originally created in 1886, and it was rebuilt in 1922!

It's known as the Lover's Leap bridge, after a distraught native woman threw herself to her death at the site. Some say it's haunted to this day.

The crossing is stunning under a fresh layer of snow...

Nearly everyone agrees, though, the absolute best time to stroll the Lover's Leap Bridge is in the spring and summertime!
