Picking and carving pumpkins is hands-down one of my favorite parts of fall. Sure, you could just make a quick trip to the store and pick one up, but why would you do that when you have so many amazing pumpkin patches right around the corner? Plus, you get to support a local business. So, get the family together, get outside, and pick your own perfect pumpkin at one of the seven best pumpkin patches in Iowa.
1. Pumpkinville and Corn Maze - Mitchellville
Starting off our list of the best pumpkin patches in Iowa is Pumpkinville and Corn Maze in Mitchellville. This is a great place to go to pick your own pumpkin, take a hayride, walk through a corn maze, and have some fun with the whole family. This year, the festivities run through the month of October. 2. Sherman's Pumpkin Farm and Corn Maze - Manchester

3. Schuster's Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze - Dubuque

4. Howell's Greenhouse and Pumpkin Patch - Cumming
Howell's Greenhouse and Pumpkin Patch in Cumming offers pick-your-own pumpkins, family bonfires, wagon rides, and much more fun for the family. I think one of the coolest things to see is their pumpkin cannon in action. This year, the fun lasts through November 1, 2025. 5. Solsma's Punkin Patch - Sanborn
Solsma's Punkin Patch in Sanborn is a fun place to go to pick out your pumpkin, explore a corn maze, roast some marshmallows over a bonfire, and try some delicious Ruby Red Popcorn. 6. Hoefling's Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze - Marcus
Hoefling's Pumpkin Patch in Marcus is a great place to go to pick your own pumpkin and is one of the best Iowa pumpkin patches. You'll also find many activities like a corn maze, hay rides, and games. Hoefling's Pump Patch and Corn Maze is open through October 31, 2025, and you'll find plenty more over on its Facebook page.
8. Colony Acres Family Farm - North Liberty
Last on our list of the best pumpkin patches in Iowa is the Colony Acres Family Farm Pumpkin Patch in North Liberty. This is a great place to find the perfect pumpkin, navigate the corn maze, bask in the beautiful fall weather, and enjoy a hayride.
