The 8 Most Gorgeous Springtime Destinations In All Of Indiana

Discover eight beautiful springtime destinations in Indiana, each offering unique natural beauty and vibrant wildflowers.

It's that time of year again - springtime in Indiana! And, as a Hoosier like me, you know what that means, right? It means our beautiful state will soon be (and in many places already is) in bloom! Spring is a wonderful time of year during which life seems to "spring" back to life. We're totally here for it. Here are eight ridiculously beautiful springtime destinations in the state of Indiana, in no particular order, of course.

1. Pokagon State Park

Pokagon State Park is so beautiful and grossly underrated if you ask me. Visit as the months get warmer and warmer and be treated to stunning trees abloom, plus lots and lots of vibrant wildflowers. There's also a gorgeous, ultra-relaxing natural spring here, too, so you really can't go wrong.

Address: 450 Lane 100 Lake James, Angola, Indiana, 46703

2. Clegg Memorial Garden

Clegg Memorial Garden is well worth a day trip, if not more. It overlooks Wildcat Creek, and the soft sounds of whispering water echo throughout the grounds. The wildflowers here are unforgettable.

Address: 1782 North 400 East, Lafayette, Indiana, 47905

3. The Ohio River Scenic Byway

Of the 967 miles of the incredibly beautiful Ohio River Scenic Byway, 303 of them are in Indiana. The river lends plenty of life-giving water to the incredible array of plant and animal life along the entire drive. No matter where you choose to start this drive, you will absolutely not regret even a second of it, especially when it's springtime in Indiana.

4. Huntington Sunken Gardens

This little slice of paradise is, predictably, nestled within Huntington Indiana. It's located inside Memorial Park, and it's well worth a visit all on its own, though the rest of the park is awe-inspiring, as well. Enjoy picnicking, frisbee golf, basketball, walking paths, and more this spring at this amazingly green Indiana getaway.

Address: 1200 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750

5. Clifty Falls State Park

Clifty Falls State Park, like many of our parks, is an absolute stunner literally any time of year that you could ever dream of visiting. However, there's something about spring and the new life popping up all over the place that makes Clifty Falls special. Snowmelt from winter equals insane waterfalls that you cannot miss.

Address: 2221 Clifty Drive, Madison, Indiana, 47250

6. Markle Mill Park

This park is small, measuring up at just eight tiny acres total. Even if the spring Indiana wildflowers here weren't incredible all on their own, it would be worth checking out just for the dam and the decaying remains of an old mill on the grounds.

Address: 4900 Mill Dam Road, North Terre Haute, Indiana, 47805

7. Goethe Link Observatory

Another hidden Hoosier gem that goes unnoticed far too often, the grounds at Goethe Link Observatory are nothing short of breathtaking, especially in the spring, when everything from the trees to the grass is in amazing bloom. It opened in 1939 and is operated by Indiana University. It's been wowing everyone with its epic springtime splendor ever since.

Address: 8403 Observatory Road, Martinsville, Indiana, 46151

8. Charlestown State Park

Last on this list (but definitely not least, considering this list is in no particular order) is Charlestown State Park, a park known not just for its intriguing abandoned amusement park and colorful history but also for its wide variety of blooming flowers, plants, and trees during the months when temperatures are on the rise. You'll find some interesting and unique flowers here, like the tiny bishop's cap or the bizarre jack-in-the-pulpit.

Address: 12500 IN-62, Charlestown, Indiana, 47111
