Hiking is more fun when you get to witness incredible views that are like none other. Along these nine river loop trails in Indiana, you'll find photo opportunities and all the peace and tranquility you expect from the Hoosier State. Bridges, water, wildlife, and much more abound.

1. Kekionga Trail

Located in the town of Decatur, this amazing trail features an impressive bridge and takes guests over the St. Marys River in northeast Indiana. The trails loops 4.2 miles and can be used year round for hiking, dog walking, and birding.

2. Trails #2 through #11

Located at Turkey Run State Park near Marshall, this wonderful trail takes guests past waterfalls and canyons and will make you feel like you're anywhere but the Midwest. Featuring several bridges, this popular chain of trails spans about nine miles and takes hikers past Sugar Creek.

3. Adventure Hiking Trail

Situated on the Ohio River near the town of Corydon, this 21.5-mile path is one of the longest river loop trails in the state. Locals use this O'Bannon Woods State Park trail for camping, long-distance hiking and backpacking, as well as for watching birds and other wildlife.

4. Trail #4

This Tippecanoe State Park loop trail lasts 2.4 miles and may be one of the most breathtakingly beautiful hikes in the state. Hoosiers come to this Monterey-area state park to enjoy the Tippecanoe River and other natural sights.

5. South Westway Park

This 2.1-mile trail is good for horseback riding, dog walking, mountain biking, and more. It brushes up against the White River near Indianapolis and is perfect for a lazy afternoon.

6. #3 & #4 River Loop

Located near Battle Ground, this Prophetstown State Park trail is 6.5 miles and runs along the Wabash River just outside Lafayette. Enjoy wildlife, wild flowers, and a mess of different terrains along this often-flooded path.

7. Wabash & Eerie Canal Trail Loop

This seven-mile trail takes visitors on a deep woods journey that leads to the Wabash River and several unique bridges. It is located near the town of Delphi, which is northeast of Lafayette.

8. Izaak Walton Ponds

This South Bend paradise is one of the best river loop trails along the St. Joe River. It spans just 1.3 miles and is popular for fishing, running, hiking, and glimpsing some incredible views.

9. Acres Along the Wabash

Still along the Wabash, but a bit closer to the south side of Fort Wayne, this 2.2-mile trail is simple to hike but is not super well-known. It is located in Bluffton and is a wonderful place to explore and find adventure.
