One Of The Most Beautiful Trails In Georgia Is Covered In Greenery And Blooms In The Springtime

Spring in Georgia is wonderful - admittedly, the pollen gets old pretty fast (and so does the constant car wash trips!), but it's a beautiful time of year. The verdant greenery that surrounds us, the warm, sunny days, and the colorful array of flowers all combine to make for scenery that's second to none. In short, it's the perfect time of year to get outside. One of my favorite ways to get outdoors and enjoy the season is to lace up my hiking boots and hit the trails. It goes without saying that there are tons of great spring hikes in Georgia, but if you find yourself looking for a challenge, one name tops the list: the mighty Mount Yonah Trail near Cleveland, GA. This is an epic adventure that's not for the inexperienced, but it's one of the best hikes around, and it's especially beautiful in the spring. Check it out:

The Mount Yonah Trail is about 4.1 miles. It's an out-and-back trail in the beautiful Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest.

This is a steep hike, with an elevation gain of nearly 1,500 feet. There are quite a few rocky scrambles, and you'll want to take your time and bring along plenty of water.

In the spring, this area is absolutely magnificent. The forest erupts in greenery, and there are flowers at seemingly every turn.

Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, too: all kinds of critters inhabit the forest.

With the stunning bursts of color from the flowers and spring's brilliantly green splendor, this is a beautiful trail that will really make you appreciate just how stunning the Peach State is.

This is a popular trail, and it's likely you'll run into other hikers along the route.

It might take some effort to master those inclines to reach the top, but the views are definitely worth it.

Best of all, there's a lot to explore in this area of the state, and you'll be able to find plenty to entertain you after the hike.
