Looking for a trail in Georgia that's a bit harder than a leisurely stroll around a pond? We love accessible kid-friendly hikes that everyone in the family can enjoy, but we also understand that experienced hikers sometimes want to get out and have more of a challenge. Next time you're looking for a more difficult trail in North Georgia, we've got the perfect hike for you: Smith Creek Trail near Sautee Nacoochee. This is such a pretty part of the state, and this 8.6-mile hike isn't easy, but it'll take you through some lovely scenery.

This out-and-back trail is located not far from Unicoi State Park. This area is a hiker's paradise, with plenty of great trails to explore.

The trail is moderate, bordering on difficult, and you probably won't want to try to explore the entire trek if you're not an experienced hiker.

As you make your way along the path here, you'll be greeted by stunning views. Lush greenery is everywhere in the warm months, and it's one of the best places to spot fall foliage in Georgia in the autumn.

There's nothing like a hike accompanied by a babbling brook for a soundtrack!

The trail will take you to Anna Ruby Falls, a set of twin waterfalls that span 153 feet and 50 feet.

Smith Creek Trail can get a bit overgrown in spots, so you'll definitely want to watch your step.

All in all, this is a great trail with some stupendous views.

If you're just interested in seeing Anna Ruby Falls, it's accessible via an easy, shorter hike, so you don't have to journey down the entire Smith Creek Trail.
