Enjoy A Fascinating Raptor Display At This Georgia Wildlife Center

We have so many places to encounter wildlife in Georgia, whether you love seeing species in their natural habitats at places like Cumberland Island or our many state parks, or prefer aquariums or zoos. One great animal attraction in Statesboro, GA is Georgia Southern University's Center for Wildlife Education. This wildlife education facility strives to inform the public about native species, with a special focus on raptors. This is quite fitting because Georgia Southern's mascot is the mighty bald eagle, which is one of the largest raptors in the world. A visit to the center is quite a treat for adults and kids of all ages, and you'll see all kinds of critters that call the Peach State home. The raptor displays here are especially impressive! Check this place out:

The facility welcomes more than 17,500 visitors to its programs annually, and even hosts off-site educational events.

The Center for Wildlife Education is home to two bald eagles: Glory and Freedom.

Both cannot be released into the wild due to injuries, but serve as mascots of the school and animal ambassadors to teach visitors about conservation.

There are plenty of other birds here, too, though, including owls, falcons, and hawks.

Seeing a bird of prey in flight is quite impressive.

The center's main building is home to even more animals, including native amphibians and toads.

The center offers guided tours and there's often events on the schedule. It's a great outing for families, and quite affordable.

It's easy to see why the raptors, in particular, capture most visitors' imaginations, though! These majestic birds are amazing.
