In Honor of National Trails Day, The Harris Greenway Trail Was Designated In Georgia

National Trails Day takes place annually on the first Saturday in June. The day is sponsored by the American Hiking Society and designed to spread awareness of the vast network of trail systems throughout the country. The American Hiking Society strives to make hiking more accessible to all, regardless of age, fitness level, and prior experience. One hike was recently recognized by the American Hiking Society as a National Recreation Trail in Georgia: the Harris Greenway Trail in Gwinnett County, GA. We've got so many wonderful trails in Georgia, and it's fantastic that this one is receiving national attention. Check it out!

The Harris Greenway Trail spans about 5.7 miles and connects Lawrenceville's Tribble Mill Park to Dacula's Harbins Park.

The entire trail is paved, meaning it's stroller and wheelchair-friendly.

While the length might scare some novices off, don't worry, it's really not that difficult!

Of course, you can always opt to explore shorter portions of the trail if you prefer.

The parks that bookend the trail both have a variety of great hikes available, ranging from easy lakeside strolls to lengthy excursions that will take a little longer. It’s easily one of the best hiking trails in Georgia.

Gwinnett County is an urban area, and it can be difficult to find opportunities to get out into nature and go hiking in Georgia.
