The 9.9-Mile Len Foote Trail Might Just Be The Most Enchanting Hike In Georgia
Ever wish you could just escape from society and go live in the woods? While we're not advocating for you to become a hermit in the North Georgia mountains, we are blessed to have plenty of peaceful place in Georgia where you can get away from the chaos of everyday life for a bit. The Peach State is blessed with some pretty amazing trails, but few are as beautiful or magical as the Len Foote Trail near Dawsonville. This is not an easy hike, but if you're up for the challenge, the views are definitely worth the effort. Check it out:
This trail is pretty much heaven. It actually is probably best-known for a destination along the trail: The Hike Inn.
The Hike Inn is actually only accessible via this trail. It's a wonderful place to disconnect for a bit, and is quite popular with Appalachian Trail hikers.
The Len Foote Trail starts at Amicalola Falls and runs until it reaches the Appalachian Approach Trail.
Most of us aren't capable of exploring the entire 2,190-mile AT, but the Len Foote Trail's 10-mile distance is a little more manageable.
The entirety of the trail takes about five hours to complete, so it's definitely a workout.
The good news is that it is a loop, so at least you will end up back at the parking lot!
The scenery is amazing, and the trail tends to be well-maintained since this is such a popular hiking area.
Views don't get much better than this!
