So when we say something like, "hey, this just might be the most beautiful hike in the entire state of Georgia", you know it better be good.

The hike we chose specifically for this occasion is none other than Blood Mountain's Appalachian Trail. Check out exactly why this topped our list:

The trail to the top of Blood Mountain and back is an insane 5.5-mile hike that will allow for views of Georgia that you can only dream about.

In fact, Blood Mountain is known as being the tallest point on the entire Appalachian Trail in the state of Georgia.

This is why Blood Mountain draws all different types of hikers to the mountain peak; the views are like no other.

Blood Mountain just might hold the title for being the most famous peak in Georgia, too.

For this particular hike, you'll start at the Byron Reese Memorial trailhead, north of Neels Gap.

The Byron Reese Trail will take you to a four-way intersection at Flatrock Gap, where you’ll meet with the Appalachian Trail and continue on.

You’ll eventually ascend almost 4,500 feet up Blood Mountain, Georgia’s fourth highest peak.

Depending on the time of year you hike, you’ll see different pieces of nature throughout the trails.

From the rhododendrum-filled pathways in the springtime…

To the rich, gold and burnt orange leaves you’ll find during autumn…

But one thing is absolutely for sure, no matter which time of year you hike this trail…

The views will always be magnificent.
