Feed Zebras At The Atlanta Safari Park In Georgia For An Adorable Adventure

Looking for unique things to do in Georgia? How about feeding and petting a zebra?! Atlanta Safari Park just opened up in Commerce, Georgia. It's a 156-acre drive-thru safari where you're able to pet and feed exotic animals like zebras and gazelles as they wander freely through the park. It's quite a special experience that's for the entire family. The Atlanta Safari Park in Commerce, GA just opened up in spring 2023 and is expected to obtain more animals over the coming months, including a giraffe, but even in the early stages, it's so much fun.

Despite the park's name, it's actually located around an hour outside of Atlanta.

Admission is charged per person, and you aren't allowed to get out of your vehicle or bring any outside food in to feed the animals.

Buckets of feed are available to buy and I highly recommend getting one for each person in your car. Make sure to only feed the animals from the bucket so that you aren't accidentally bitten.

Some of the animals prefer to eat grass, but many are excited to see people and head right up the windows to grab a bite.

If you aren't interested in feeding a species, you might want to roll up the window prior to approaching so that you don't get the stink eye from the emus.

The zebras were a real highlight for me. It was so cool to see them right up next to the car and get to pet them.

I was glad the animals had so much space to move around. They have plenty of shade, grassy areas, water, and food, and they're free to move away from the cars if they aren't interested in interacting.

There's a wide variety of terrain at the park, with forested areas where they can be out of the public eye if they desire.

After the drive-thru experience, there's a small petting zoo area where you can interact with farm animals like goats and sheep.

There's also a cockatiel house with a few dozen little colorful birds that will land on your arms if you hold them out.
