Living in a big and exciting city like Detroit can really make you crave some time walking around nature. While there are incredible hikes throughout the state of Michigan, you just have to check out the Belle Isle Loop if you are looking for a walk right near the city. Located in Belle Isle Park, right next to the Canadian border, Belle Isle Loop is a 5.4-mile loop trail that takes you past some incredible views and scenery as you walk the island.
The Belle Isle Loop Trail has views of downtown Detroit across the Detroit River! Walking around with such an incredible view of the river is sure to energize your day.
The entire trail is paved, and is popular with hikers, runners, and even roller skaters!
There are also some trails that branch off of the main route if you are looking for a little more solitude.
The Belle island Loop Trail is also beautiful in the winter. With snow-covered scenery like this, you'll want to bundle up to escape the indoors during colder months.
When the snow melts, the flowers and greenery appear. We really can't stress enough how beautiful the trail's views are year-round.
You can also see the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory on your walk.
The natural and man-made scenery on this walk makes it the perfect jaunt whenever you are craving some fresh air.
Whether the Belle Isle Loop Trail is one of your regular walking routes and you just needed a reminder to lace up those shoes, or if you've never been, this is your sign that you need to go! Pack a snack and head over to Belle Isle to get in those steps and some fresh air.
