Walk Alongside The Water On The 2.5-Mile Wolcott Trail In Connecticut

With so many amazing trails in Connecticut, it's inevitable that some end up falling by the wayside. From strenuous, all-day treks to easy jaunts through the woods, there's no shortage of fun hikes in the Nutmeg State, no matter your fitness level or abilities. Today, we're featuring a great trail that provides excellent scenery without too much of exertion. It's the Wolcott Trail, the 2.5-mile trail that loops around beautiful Burr Pond in Burr Pond State Park. This is a magnificent hike at any time of year. It's quite easy to follow since it's a simple loop around Burr Pond, and that also means you'll enjoy great waterfront scenery for the entirety of the hike.

This is a wonderful area of the state for outdoors lovers, as it's right next to Paugnut State Forest and also close to Sunnybrook State Park.

The trail is appropriate for even novice hikers. There's very little elevation gain and it's as easy and peaceful as a walk in the woods.

Note that some areas can get muddy, especially after rains, so watch your step.

It's stunning at any time of year. You'll encounter beautiful flowers during the warm months.

During the fall, it's a wonderful place to check out some of the best fall foliage in Connecticut.
