This Remote Beach In Connecticut Is A Must-Visit This Summer
DuBois Beach in Stonington, CT, offers stunning waterfront views and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a hidden gem among Connecticut's beaches.
There is surely no shortage of shoreline in the Nutmeg State, between our Long Island Sound frontage and our amazing inland beaches in Connecticut along our lakes and rivers. With so many to choose from, it's understandable that some of these beaches end up becoming better known than others. Places like Madison's crowded Hammonasset Beach State Park are amazing and definitely deserving of the love, but we also have many more remote beaches that are just as worthy of a visit. One of our favorites is DuBois Beach in Stonington, CT. Tucked away at the very tip of Stonington Borough, it's a stunningly beautiful area and the waterfront views here are some of the best in the state. Check it out:
This is a small beach, but it's well-maintained and has plenty of places to relax. There isn't much shade here, so make sure to bring an umbrella to get some time out of the sun.
Parking is free, but note that there is a daily fee to enter the beach during the summer if you are not a member.
The views here are particularly magnificent at sunrise and sunset - check out that sky!
Lifeguards are on duty here throughout the summer months.
The beach tends to be pretty quiet, making this a wonderful place to reflect on nature and enjoy the feel of the waves rushing in over the sand.
DuBois Beach isn't far from the Stonington Lighthouse Museum, so you'll definitely want to plan to stop by there before or after your beach visit. The museum has exhibits about the nautical history of the area.
