There Are More Beautiful Sights Than There Are Miles Along This Beautiful Hiking Trail In Connecticut

If you're a novice hiker or not in great shape, it can be disheartening to try to do research on great trails in Connecticut. There's no shortage of beautiful hikes to explore throughout the Nutmeg State, but many of them can be quite intimidating if you are not fit or experienced with hiking. Between high-mileage trails and parks filled lots of rocky scrambles, there are many hikes that are gorgeous, but not capable of being explored by a huge portion of explorers. If you're looking for something a little more accessible, we've got just the trail for you! The Wadsworth Mansion at Long Hill trail near Middletown, Connecticut is an easy, one-mile jaunt that can be enjoyed by pretty much anyone and has just as much lovely scenery as some of the state's more difficult hikes.

The trail is located at Wadsworth Falls State Park, a 285-acre oasis that's best-known for its eponymous waterfalls. If you visit and don't check out the rest of the park, you're making a big mistake!

This easy, one-mile loop trail will take you through part of the park and around Wadsworth Mansion.

The magnificent mansion is a lovely example of classical revival architecture. It's a sprawling 16,000 square feet and its construction dates back to 1900.

The grounds around the mansion were specially-designed to be naturalistic, and this easy trail will take you through the beautiful gardens.

There are signs erected throughout to explain the history of the property and give you more information on the park.

The trail is quite flat and only takes most hikers about half an hour.

It's beautiful at any time of year, but a visit in late spring or summer when the flowers are in bloom is especially magical!

No visit to Wadsworth Falls State Park is complete without taking a stroll down this peaceful trail.
