We're so lucky to live in such a beautiful state, especially when it's home to countless hiking trails that allow us to admire its natural beauty. For some of the most beautiful scenery around, slip on your hiking boots and follow the easy loop trail to Kent Falls in Connecticut.

Kent Falls State Park, in Kent, provides an idyllic backdrop for a few hours or an entire day outdoors, no matter the season. You might even want to bring a picnic along.

The natural masterpiece of the park, which is also home to a picturesque covered bridge, is undoubtedly Kent Falls.

To reach the cascading waterfall, set off on the .7-mile Kent Falls Red and Yellow Loop Trail that's rated easy. However, be forewarned that the trail can get pretty steep, so...

Be prepared for somewhat of a workout. You'll come to a storybook footbridge that will offer one of your first glimpses of the falls.

A multi-tiered waterfall, Kent Falls drops down a total of 250 feet, making it perfect for snapping photographs.

The trail can get pretty busy, and you should expect muddy spots, especially after a rainfall.

Because it's flanked by trees, the waterfall offers sensational views in all seasons - during the fall foliage, when the trees are a majestic green in the spring and in the summer, and when the waterfall is frozen in the winter.

You'll find a parking lot near Kent Falls (where you can also see the waterfall). Once the parking lot is full, the park closes. It will reopen again when a minimum of 10 parking spaces are empty.

If you're driving a vehicle from out-of-state, you'll have to pay an admission fee.
