You don't have to travel far from home to discover stunning natural wonders. One of Connecticut's most beautiful parks, Kent Falls State Park, is home to a short pathway that showcases jaw-dropping waterfalls, a covered bridge, and picnic spots. Come spend all day here and enjoy the fresh air!
Kent Falls State Park is a family-friendly outdoor recreation area that you'll find in Connecticut's Litchfield Hills.
The region, part of the Southern Berkshires, is known for rolling hills and rocky outcroppings, along with plenty of streams and brooks that wind together in the watershed.
One of Connecticut's most impressive waterfalls can be found in this park, as you might have guessed by the name. At Kent Falls State Park, the power of Falls Brook is evident as it tumbles into the Housatonic River.
On a journey that travels less than a quarter-mile, the brook falls more than 250 feet. Though the pathway to follow along the brook is short, you'll want to plan to spend plenty of time here. Each cascade is worth admiring!
The largest waterfall in the series drops 70 feet, creating a gorgeous horsetail cascade that disappears into a reflecting pool, before the water continues its journey.
This western Connecticut park is a favorite of photographers, who gather to capture the tumbling waters with long exposures that create a dream-like scene.
Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the park, along with your camera, and you'll never want to go home.
