Colorado is known for its mountains, plains, and all-around splendor… but beaches? Not so much. Believe it or not, our state is actually home to a number of must-visit sandy beaches, including this particularly huge one that you will want to sink your toes into.

Blue Mesa Reservoir is Colorado’s largest lake - and you’ll definitely want to pay it a visit this summer.

Located near Gunnison and spanning across 20 miles and featuring 96 miles of shoreline, Blue Mesa is an outdoorsman's (and woman's) dream come true.

Popular attractions include boating…

...fishing...

...and other outdoor recreation opportunities.

While you really can't go wrong with anything you choose to do at Blue Mesa Reservoir, our favorite part of all is its warm, sandy beach!

Seriously… is this still Colorado?! This looks like paradise!
