For a big city, Cleveland sure does have a lot of green space. We love our parks, and we have more than a dozen to choose from. Here's one that you certainly don't want to miss.
Edgewater Park is right on Lake Erie, with 9,000 feet of shoreline. It also offers some incredible city views.
Don't forget your camera - or charge your cell phone so you can snap tons of photos. This is a great place to capture the beauty of our city.
There's so much to do here that you'll never get bored.
Take a stroll or a bike ride, launch your kayak into the lake, have a picnic, do some fishing, or play on the beach.
The 2,400-foot-long Edgewater Beach provides swimming and kayak access. You can even bring your dog (the western portion of the beach is dog-friendly- just pick up after him).
During summer months, rent a cabana and stay for the day. There are lifeguards and concessions, too!
Even in chillier months, this is a great spot for a picnic.
Bundle up and enjoy this park year-round.
This is a popular spot for joggers: lace up your running shoes and get some exercise in the fresh air.
Try your hand at fishing.
You'll find smallmouth bass, walleye, perch, and steelhead here.
You'll find one of our famous "Cleveland" signs in upper Edgewater Park.
If you've lived in Cleveland long, you certainly have a selfie with one of these signs. Bring your out-of-town friends, as this one has a great city view in the background.
Sunsets over the lake never fail to delight.
The park is open from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. There's no charge to access the park or beach.
