Cooler temperatures will soon arrive and a hint of fall is in the air. This time of year is a favorite for many and one of the reasons may be the fresh, crisp apples that start to fill local markets and farms. If you like to get out there into the apple orchards, enjoy the weather, and have a memorable experience picking your own apples, then we have the list for you! We've rounded up six of the most charming and best opportunities for apple picking near Cincinnati that are perfect for a fall day, and most of them are ready for you to visit right now.
1. A & M Farm Orchard
Northeast of Cincinnati is the beautiful A & M Farm Orchard. This is a favorite apple picking spot for many, as it is very family-friendly and simply gorgeous. You'll surely love an afternoon at this quiet farm. The Apple House at the farm carries a variety of apples, produce, and other items. You can stop by now for several different items, but if you're looking to pick your own apples, that will begin sometime in September.
2. Wesler Orchards & Farm Market
North of Cincinnati, right on the Indiana border, you'll find the charming Wesler Orchards. This family-owned farm makes the list because of its friendly atmosphere, as well as their tasty treats. While weather may impact their pick-your-own apple season, they do still plan on welcoming visitors into their orchard this fall! The market also features a variety of produce, baked goods, amazing apple cider, and other products.
3. Tukens Orchard and Farm Market
Head northwest to Tukens Orchard for an apple picking experience that is definitely worth the drive. This family-friendly destination is already welcoming those who wish to pick their own apples, and they have a wide variety to choose from.
4. Irons Fruit Farm
Irons Fruit Farm is one of the closest options to Cincinnati and is a great spot to spend the afternoon! Right now, they have a variety of produce in their market, but the U-Pick apples won't get going until mid-September.
5. Evans Orchard and Cider Mill
We head south for our next apple adventure to Evans Orchard and Cider Mill in Georgetown, just north of Lexington. Evans is worth the drive, as it is a true fall destination with plenty to do.
Historic Karnes Orchard is located in Hillsboro and is anxiously awaiting your visit this fall! This beautifully maintained and relaxing farm is warm and friendly and loves welcoming you onto the property.
