Fairytale Town is an amazingly magical playground located right here in Northern California. You and your loved ones will be transported right into your favorite fairy tale classics! These themed parks used to be very popular back in the 1960s and we're lucky to still have one just a short drive away.
Fairytale Town is a nonprofit and located in William Land Park in Sacramento, right across from the Sacramento Zoo.
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall... children's nursery rhymes come to life in this magical setting.
The beloved classics for the young and old are delightfully larger than life here at Fairytale Town. Start your exploration of this park by visiting Old Mother Goose and reacquainting yourself with these nursery rhymes.
Even the restrooms are decorated to match the park's theme! I've never seen a more adorable restroom or gingerbread house.
For your next stop, visit "the little old lady who lived in a shoe!" Kids get to slide down the giant shoe from the nursery rhyme. There will be so many kids visiting here she just won't know what to do!
Next, your children should swashbuckle on over to the sailing ship! They can be pirates for the day on this classic old fashioned ship!
Just look at these fearsome buckaroos! I would trust them to sail a smooth course any day.
The park has been around since the 60's and was created to foster a child's sense of exploration and delight. Slides and trails throughout the park take you through the gardens and into the delightful world of make believe.
There's no detail that's been overlooked in the park. Jack be nimble, Jack be swift, Jack would have to jump really high to make it over this candlestick!
Parents who grew up going here as children are now taking their young ones out to enjoy the same park. Look at this mother and son enjoying the choo-choo train together.
Be sure to check out the stunning fortress, which welcomes visitors to Fairytale Town, including knights and princesses like your youngsters.
Not only is the park an endless opportunity for entertainment, it's also stunning! This was shot in the springtime. Aren't those flowers lovely?
Beware the treacherous moat! It protects the castle but that doesn't seem to deter these ducks or visitors to Fairytale Town.
To top it all off, there is also a petting zoo. Friendly farm animals will have you singing, Old Macdonald on a farm, ei-i-ei-i-o!
Or, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Have you any wool?
The fun truly never ends at this magical park. Face painting? Check!
When you've had enough of the animals and face painting, it will be time to climb the magic bean stalk!
Keep and eye out for that scary giant though. If you see his foot, you're probably ok, but if you hear a booming voice yell, "Fe Fi Fo Fum," it's time to run!
Hop on Cinderella's magical pumpkin chariot and proceed on out of the giant's realm!
Whatever fun you find for yourself at Fairytale Town, you'll leave with a giant smile on your face.
Be sure to wave goodbye to Humpty on your way out!
