The Incredible Farm In Northern California Where You Can Pick Berries
This is the season to go berry picking! There are many U-pick farms in Northern California, but we really love this small berry farm near Clear Lake. Located in Lake County, Edenberry Farm grows many things, including raspberries and blackberries, which are in season in late spring and early summer. Don’t worry about being pricked by thorns– these berries are thorn-less. So check out this charming Northern California farm located in a picturesque area!
Edenberry Farm is a fairly new farm that grows CCOF organic certified berries.
Visitors to this berry farm say the berries get tastier and tastier each year.
Berry picking season has commenced at Edenberry Farm!
They will be open on Fridays and Saturdays through early July (berries permitting), from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. So plan a date to visit this farm and pick berries before they’re all gone! No reservations are required.
Consider bringing a cooler to keep your berries fresh if you plan to explore the area after picking.
They provide berry baskets. The berries cost $8 per pint or $12 per quart.
There is a sense of accomplishment that comes with picking your own food.
Plus, it provides an enjoyable way to spend some time outdoors while making memories with friends and family. This is a working farm so wear closed-toed shoes.
In addition to growing berries, Edenberry Farm makes all sorts of delicious snacks and pantry staples, like jam, dried fruit, vinegar, and more.
You can buy these items at the farm, or find them at area markets and festivals. Currently, they’re at the Lake County Farmer’s Market on Tuesdays and Saturdays, as well as Hidden Valley Market on Sundays, and the Thursday afternoon market in Willits.
We love this Lakeport U-pick farm for several reasons: Not all U-pick farms have raspberries as well as blackberries; these plants are organic and thornless; and there are a lot of fun things to do in Lakeport and the Clear Lake area.
So, if this is a long drive from where you live in NorCal, make a day of it! Or stay the night at one of the many spectacular VRBOs in the area. Spend time exploring the towns around Clear Lake, and go wine tasting at one of the many wineries in the area.
There are many parks around Clear Lake where you can picnic and enjoy the Mediterranean-like climate.
Lakeport, as well as other towns around Clear Lake, has several places where you can rent boats, jet-skis, and stand-up paddle boards.
Many Northern California U-pick farms only stay open until all berries (or cherries or apples) are picked. So if this activity appeals to you, head to Edenberry Farm the next Friday on your calendar to pick organic, seasonal berries. Do you go berry picking in the spring? Tell us in the comments!
