Nature And Art Come Together In This Spectacular Southern California Light Festival

The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden is one of the prettiest places to visit in Los Angeles. My grandparents used to take me there as a child to wander through the acres of manicured gardens and feed the resident peacocks. It has always been a lovely escape any time of year. In recent years, however, this premier nature destination has been taking things up a notch with one of the most artistic light festival in Los Angeles.

The Arboretum calls Lightscape 2023 “a magical, illuminated journey of wonder and light” and features mesmerizing displays that delight visitors of all ages.

This year, Lightscape has been reimagined with new sights and sounds that feed the imagination. It will take place from November 17, 2023, through January 2, 2024.

By night, the botanical gardens are transformed into a wonderland of light and music. I guarantee you have never seen this place quite like this before.

Experience the dark side of The Arboretum as you follow the mile-long trail of illuminated art installations through the gardens.

Art imitates nature throughout the experience, with light sculptures such as Red Herbs, inspired by blades of grass.

The beautiful white-light “Winter Cathedral” is a fan favorite that returns every year and never disappoints.

For many, a highlight of the Arboretum is the stunning Meyberg waterfall, and visitors will see it in an entirely new light (pun intended) during the Lightscape event.

In addition to the light experience, every night during Lightscape, visitors will also be able to enjoy a variety of food trucks and a full bar. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. each evening and closes at 10 p.m. Have you been to the Los Angeles Arboretum for its annual light festival?
