Exploring This Small Town Park In Northern California Is The Definition Of An Underrated Adventure

Are you searching for the ultimate adventure but wanting to avoid big city noise and chaos? If so, come play at California's Great America, a small-town amusement park in Northern California that's perfect for endless family-friendly fun and adventure.

In the heart of the town of Santa Clara lies one of the most amazing amusement parks in the state. California's Great America offers an extensive array of attractions, from roller coasters to water park rides and more.

We'll waste no time in getting to the good stuff: the Patriot roller coaster is one of the highlights of California's Great America. It opened in 2017 as the park's first floorless roller coaster. Prepare for 360-degree loops, sky-high vistas, and high-speed adrenaline on this amazing coaster.

But the fan favorite roller coaster of the entire park is Flight Deck, another floorless roller coaster that reaches speeds up to 50mph as it twists and turns and drops - right over a lake!

If you're ready for some water-based fun in the sun, head over to the Pacific Surge in South Bay Shores Water Park.

Here, you'll find 6 different water slides, such as Shark Reef Plunge, Feeding Frenzy, and Barracuda, each as thrilling and heart-pumping as the last.

As you're winding down your day, you can kick back at the Rushin' River, a relaxing section of lazy river tubing along the Russian River. This is a great all-ages activity.

Be sure to check out the family-friendly Tide Pool, Pup's Pier, Otter Trotter, and more family-friendly attractions in the water park.

When you’re ready to satiate your tastebuds, California's Great America offers all the amusement park classics - funnel cakes, cotton candy, corn dogs, and more - to whet your appetite. But if you're looking for a unique Bay Area favorite, check out Pier 76 Cafe.

Here, you'll find goodies like tempura-battered shrimp, beer-battered fish, rotisserie chicken or beef, and a plethora of mouth-watering sides.

Another fan favorite is the delectable South Bay Cantina. They offer burritos, nachos, guacamole, and other delights at this Mexicali diner.

Lastly, we can't forget to highlight one of the best events hosted by California's Great America, the annual WinterFest.

Come see the park bedazzled in holiday lights from November 24th through Dec. 31st, 2023. The park hosts special events year-round, so check out California's Great America's website for more information.
