That being said, it should come as absolutely no surprise that apple picking is on our Buffalo autumn bucket list! With so many great places to choose from, it's time to share the wealth with you! Here are our "picks" for the very best apple orchards near Buffalo.

1. Greg's U-Pick

This place isn't just good for a fun corn maze! Pick your own apples, strawberries, raspberries, pumpkins, blueberries, and even fresh flowers at Greg's U-Pick Farm.

2. Blackman Homestead Farm

Blackman Homestead is one of our personal favorite picks, and a visit here will prove why it's one of the best apple orchards near Buffalo! The homestead offers rows upon rows of apple trees of all different varieties, as well as plenty of autumn favorites like cider, hay bales, pumpkins, and gourds! Make sure you visit them for berry season too for plump U-Pick berries of all kinds!

3. Sanger Farm

We've mentioned our love for Sanger Farm before, and we're here to sing their praises again – this time, for apple picking! Sanger Farms offers apple and peach picking simultaneously. For the sweetest fall festivities you can imagine, head on out to experience it for yourself in Youngstown.

4. Smith's Orchard Cider Mill

Smith's Orchard is located in Niagara County in Lockport, NY. They boast some of the best-priced cider around, as well as reasonable prices for their u-pick apples. A special treat is the cider slushies! This is a seasonal farm, so it opens up each year around mid-September.

5. LynOaken Farms

LynOaken Farms is located in one of our favorite Western New York towns, Medina. The farm offers 350 varieties of u-pick apples from September through November. They also offer weekend wagon rides to the orchard and fresh cider donuts. And, even better, they will ship apples right to your door!

6. Baker Farm Market & U-Pick

Baker Farm Market & U-Pick in Ransomville, New York (home of some of the best wineries near Buffalo) is another small seasonal farm that opens up for apple picking in September. They have fresh apple cider at the market along with some other surprises like salsa, jams, jellies, apple butter, pumpkin butter, and honey.

7. Becker Farms

Apple picking at Becker Farms is truly an experience with an on-site brew pub, winery, playground, petting zoo, hayrides, and more. This is one of the most beautiful and best apple orchards near Buffalo and is located in Gasport.

8. Stonehill Orchard

Note: Unfortunately, Stone Hill Orchard has closed its doors after 35 years of bringing us some of the best apples in NY. The former owners recommend another local farm in Forestville that is open each year in September - Meadows Farm.

Stonehill Orchard was located at 2356 Shirley Road in North Collins, just 35 minutes south of the city.
