You Haven’t Lived Until You’ve Experienced This One Incredible Park In Austin

This unique outdoor art installation in Austin is remarkable. The graffiti ranges from truly artistic pieces that clearly took hours to produce, to simple, spray-painted messages. But don't expect to show up next week and see the same fantastic art - much of it will have already been replaced with new work. Check it out!

The Hope Outdoor Gallery was created in 2010 as a collaboration between the Austin non-profit HOPE (Helping Other People Everywhere) and the street artist Shepard Fairey. The public art project is collaborative and constantly changing as people add their own art to the mix.

Climb right up the art-adorned blocks of concrete to the top.

Once you get there, you'll find a pretty decent view of Austin.

Sit for awhile and take it all in. Your park bench, and even the trees offering shade are covered in graffiti.

People are continually adding to this art installation - that's the whole point.

Check out some of the art that was here this summer.

Hope Outdoor Gallery is located at 1100 Baylor Street (for the time being). The non-profit group is looking for a new space because the cost of maintaining the current space is prohibitive. It costs the property owner about $100,000 per year in property taxes, insurance and other expenses.

Visit the Hope Outdoor Gallery seven days per week, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.. If you'd like to create your own work of art here, you must register to participate. Send an email to [email protected] for more information. Please don't visit this privately-owned space after dark, and make sure to clean up after yourself so that everyone can enjoy this amazing space.
