Swim At The Bottom Of A Multi-Tiered Waterfall After The 2-Mile Hike To Tanyard Creek Falls In Arkansas

Tanyard Creek Nature Trail in Bella Vista offers an easy 2-mile hike with beautiful sights, including a tiered waterfall perfect for swimming.

Not all worthwhile hikes go on for miles and miles or require traversing rough terrain. Take, for instance, the Tanyard Creek Nature Trail. An easy hike with a big payoff, the 2-mile trek is brimming with beautiful sights, including a tiered waterfall that you can swim under.

Just off the beaten path in Bella Vista, you’ll find the Tanyard Creek Nature Trail.

Nestled in the Ozark Mountains, it’s a great way to soak up the natural beauty of northwest Arkansas.

The 2-mile trail is broken up into two parts. The first, a 0.3-mile loop, is paved and relatively flat, while the second part of the trail features a well-maintained natural surface.

Suitable for hikers of most ages and abilities, the second part of the trek has several bridged creek crossings and a few hills, but nothing too steep.

Lots of benches line the trail, making it easy to stop and soak in the views or take a break, if need be.

Beauty abounds throughout the trail; however, there’s no denying that the latter half of the trek is the best part – and that’s because it passes by Tanyard Creek Falls.

Situated below the Windsor Lake Dam, the towering tiered waterfall is created by the run-off from Windsor Lake.

A fenced-in viewing platform makes it easy to take in the lovely cascade.

Of course, you can do more than admire the fall from afar.

You can actually clamor over rocks to the pool at the base of the fall and splash around in its waters.

The rapids created by the waterfall only add to the fun.
