It was hard to resist covering the Big Bluff along the Buffalo National River, after all at 550-ft. that particular bluff is the tallest sheer bluff face found between the Rocky and Appalachian mountains. However "easy" and "Big Bluff" will never be used in the same sentence unless you're describing how easy it is to fall off, which is never good for a family hiking trip. So today we're focused on Signal Hill Trail, the more kid-friendly trail that still takes you to the top of the world. The quest to reach the top of the world in Arkansas is a pretty easy trek since the trailhead is well marked and visible from the road.

It's right before the Lodge along Mt. Magazine Road.

The Signal Hill Trail is a perfect first trail for new Arkansans.

It's a 1.5-mile hike that takes about two hours. Along the trail you'll spot plenty of wildflowers and probably a deer or two.

Of course you'll want to take a photo with proof that you've reached the top.

The peak elevation point is at 2,753-ft. above sea level, which is quite a bragging right for such an easy hike.

The top is also adored with a 400-sq. ft. stone map of Arkansas and it's official geological survey emblem.
