This Easy Wildflower Hike In Arizona Will Transport You Into A Sea Of Color

A promising sign that spring is near all across Arizona is when tiny wildflowers start to reach for the sun. Picacho Peak is one of our favorite spots to see these delicate and fragrant flowers. With several easy hiking trails lined with vibrant yellow poppies and other Picacho Peak wildflowers, we are pretty sure you will enjoy it just as much as we do.

Picacho Peak features five different trails ranging in length from .2 to 3.1 miles. The shortest hikes are also the easiest, but they still have plenty of redeeming qualities like overlooks and interpretive signs.

When spring rolls around, the landscape is enveloped in a sea of yellow poppies. It's Arizona's very own version of the Wizard of Oz!

Take the .7-mile, moderately difficult Calloway Trail that leads to a breathtaking scenic overlook. A sea of flowers extends as far as the eye can see, and you'll get a birds-eye view.

Both the Children's Cave and Nature Trails are less than half a mile long and are incredibly easy. Kids and those with lower fitness levels will appreciate having access to this enchanting natural phenomenon.

You'll find the park at 15520 Picacho Peak Rd., Picacho, AZ 85141. Trails are open year-round from sunrise to sunset.
