Enjoy An Incredible Outdoor Adventure In This 400-Acre State Park in Arizona
Did you know that Arizona is home to 34 state parks? While there are large and popular parks like Catalina State Park and Alamo Lake State Park, some of the smaller state parks have just as much to offer in terms of recreation. One park, for example, is Roper Lake State Park in Arizona, and I think you should all plan a day trip here.
Are you ready for your next outdoor adventure? If "yes" is your answer, make plans to visit Roper Lake State Park. Located in Safford, Arizona, this 400-acre state park is rife with activities and views as well as ways to relax.
At the center of the park is the 32-acre Roper Lake. Here you can go swimming, boating, and fishing.
Located along the lake is a designated beach and swimming area, the only place where swimming is allowed. Make sure to bring towels and swimwear and anything else you need for a day at the lake!
If you enjoy fishing, trout, largemouth bass, catfish, and panfish can all be found in the lake. As for boating, only non-motorized boating is allowed on Roper Lake, and you can launch your kayak or canoe at the boat ramp.
Hiking is another popular activity at this Arizona state park, and there are 5 miles of trails that will take you through the beautiful landscape. The trails also connect to the campgrounds.
Speaking of camping, if that's something you're interested in, Roper Lake State Park is home to three tent and RV campgrounds right on the lake.
If you prefer, there are eight camping cabins for rent as well. Each one has electricity, air conditioning, heating, and a set of bunk beds, and perhaps a full-sized bed as well, depending on which one you reserve.
You can make your cabin, tent, or RV reservation on the AZ State Parks website.
