Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge is located at 12295 State Highway 180, Gulf Shores, Alabama 36542. It's considered one of Alabama's 10 natural wonders.

Located within five separate units in Baldwin and Mobile Counties, Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge serves as a resting and feeding area for migratory birds. It's also one of the Gulf Coast's largest pieces of undeveloped land.

Established in 1980, Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge contains approximately 7,000 acres of wildlife habitat. Without a doubt, this refuge is one of the most beautiful places along Alabama's Gulf Coast.

Habitats located within Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge include beaches, sand dunes, scrub forest, freshwater marshes, saltwater marshes, freshwater swamps and uplands.

Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, which is open year-round, offers five miles of trails that give visitors a variety of viewing opportunities.

More than 370 species of birds have been identified at Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge.
