Summer is coming (we promise), and that's when most Montanans that chose to hibernate all winter long come out of hiding ... and for the rest of us, it's a chance to swap our skis or snowshoes for hiking boots and (eventually) shorts. And if you're looking for a fun, family-friendly outdoor activity in Whitefish this summer, simply head to Whitefish Mountain Resort and ask to make your way through the treetops.
The Aerial Adventure Park, which is an adrenaline-pumping activity, is located at Whitefish Mountain Resort.
Whitefish Mountain Resort is a prominent ski resort in town, but they offer an abundance of warm weather activities in between snowy seasons.
The adventure lasts between 2.5 and 3 hours, but it's one you'll never forget.
You'll also be with a pair of trained guides as you balance and climb. These guides will make sure nothing slips through the cracks (especially you).
First, you'll hike through the beautiful sub-alpine forest, led by expert forest interpreters.
Before you know it, you'll be on a narrow boardwalk canopy 70 feet above the ground, offering a bird's eye view of Whitefish Lake and the surrounding valley.
There are five courses of various ability levels, each featuring different elements for getting from tree to tree.
That's because the team here wants everyone to feel comfortable completing this route while feeling safe.
Best of all, the Aerial Adventure Park is family-friendly.
Children must be at least 7 years old and very good at following instructions (obviously).
This is such a perfect way to spend a summer afternoon, walking with the clouds and enjoying the sunshine.
The Aerial Adventure Park is open seasonally, but when it opens in May, its hours are 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Due to the substantial amount of time it often takes to complete a canopy walk, the latest guests can begin each day is 4:20 p.m.
Doesn't this look exciting?
Would you ever visit this aerial adventure park? This resort also happens to have an amazing alpine slide they only open for the summer.
