It was established in 1946 when Buck and Helen Knight opened it as a hunting camp, complete with cabins. In 1950, two of the cabins were slid together and converted into the present bar.

And while you can't get a room with a meal for $12 anymore like you could in 1946, you can still enjoy a great stay for a reasonable rate.

And even in the peak season, you can usually get a beautiful room here for under $200 per night.

The restaurant was added to the property in 1982, much to the delight of the community.

Chef Scott Mechura uses fresh, local ingredients and traditional culinary techniques to prepare delicious entrees any Montanan can enjoy.

You can expect to hear about some fantastic daily specials when you arrive as well.

Reservations are recommended -- their summer season tends to be quite busy.
Could you use an end of summer staycation? Buck’s is here for you.
