Start at the Kansas City Northern Railroad where you can ride one of the miniature replica trains. This little train trip is perfect for a fun family activity.

When you're ready for a bite to eat check out the Fritz's Railroad Restaurant in the Crown Center. This train themed restaurant is one of the only places where you can get your meal delivered directly to your table by a miniature train!
Kids will love the fun atmosphere and it's such a unique eatery you will likely never have another dining experience like it.
Union Station in Kansas City was once a bustling fully operational train station. During World War II it is estimated that over a million travelers came through the station.
Today the station is a museum, event center, and is still used as a train station by Amtrack. From Union Station take the Amtrack to the next destination in Washington, Missouri.
Relax and let the Amtrak train take you from Kasnas City all the way to Washington and enjoy the scenic views of the state along the Missouri river.

Washington is a great little town that is rich in train history. Check out their beautiful refurbished train station before heading to the Iron Spike Model Train Museum. This museum has tons of vintage model trains on display and you can even run some of their model trains through the displays.

From Washington, continue on to Eureka. If you're ready to call it a night reserve the Kozy Kaboose at the St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA campground. This caboose has been fully remodeled to accommodate a family a four for an overnight stay.

After a relaxing stay in the Kozy Kaboose start your day at the Wabash Frisco and Pacific Railroad Association just outside of St. Louis. Take a ride on the 12 inch gauge live Steam Railroad which lasts about 30 minutes and is a 2 mile trip.
The Wabash, Frisco, and Pacific Association runs their trains every Saturday May through October. Trips depart every 20 minutes throughout the day. Visit their Facebook page
