You Won’t Want To Miss This Awesome Route 66 Festival Happening In Missouri
Birthplace of Route 66 Festival happens this weekend and you won’t want to miss it! This three day event is free and will have classic cars, motorcycles, bands, a run, vendors, food, and fun activities for the kids. This family friendly event helps commemorate Springfield’s role in the creation of America’s Mother Road.
The 7th Annual Birthplace of Route 66 Festival officially kicks off on Thursday with a showing of "Show Me 66: Main Street Through Missouri" at 7:30 p.m. at the Gillioz Theatre.
The parade begins on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The parade will start on the corner of Grant Ave. at College St.
Start Saturday with an early run with the 3.3K or 6.6K runs that will be held at the Springfield Expo Center.
Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. and the race begins at 8 a.m.
Last year's participants walked away with these awesome classic car trophies.
Classic cars will be in abundance all weekend long.
With three full days of car shows, you;re sure to find a hot rod that catches your eye.
You can also show off that custom or classic motorcycle at this weekend's car show.

There will be many tasty carnival food stands and food trucks throughout the festival so you and your crew will never go hungry.
Your kids will love this year's drive-in movie. Take them to see Cloudy With A Change of Meatballs for free on Friday night at Jordan Valley Park.
There will also be many unique vendors selling Route 66 collectibles and memorabilia.
Great live performances have been planned from some of classic rock and county music's biggest groups.
Be sure to catch the Signature Concert Series featuring Big & Rich with Kassie Ashton, and Three Dog Night.
