Named one of America’s Best Spring Flower Festivals by Fodor’s Travel, the 56th Annual Dogwood-Azalea Festival in Charleston will run from April 18-21, 2024.
Slip on a pair of comfy shoes for your visit to this beloved springtime festival that winds along the six-mile Dogwood-Azalea Trail, brimming with dogwood and azaleas.
The family-friendly festival is chock full of fun activities, including a carnival, complete with rides, games, and plenty of goodies. It will run select hours throughout the four-day festival.
Snag a spot on the sidewalk downtown or on Commercial Street on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. for what’s billed as one of the area’s largest parades. If you’re a fan of animals, plan a stop at the petting zoo to make a few new furry friends.
You’ll find so much to do and see – a dog show, a car show, and a church tour, for example – that you’ll probably want to visit more than one day, so you can experience a little bit of everything.
Admire the blossoming flowers on a leisurely carriage ride. You might just be inspired to plant your own flowers. The Molly French Garden Club will host a plant sale at the Clara Drinkwater Newman Library on Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
No festival would be complete without a whole lot of good food, and you’ll find that at the A Taste of the Festival and Citizen Bank Food Courts. Indulge in everything from tacos and loaded potatoes to ice cream and funnel cakes.
