You'll find plenty to do at Whitecliff Park each season. Summer is particularly popular as Missourians flock to the aquatic center to stay cool.

Tallying just 85 acres, the cozy St. Louis-area park has been a local favorite since 1971 when the local Alderman Board decided to preserve the abandoned quarry, making it a highlight of Whitecliff Park.

Snagging an easy rating from hikers, the 1.5-mile scenic trail will lead you through a lush wooden area, over a wooden footbridge, and to the quarry itself.

Carve out around an hour for your trek along this wooded path.

However, before you arrive at the old quarry, you'll be treated to beautiful views of the foliage on this path that winds along Gravois Creek.

While you might be lucky enough to cross paths with local wildlife, including deer, be prepared for a few outdoor nuisances - bugs, muddy spots, and some overgrown spots.
