Missouri makes spending time with the family easy. It's deciding where to go, and what to do, that usually poses a challenge, especially if everyone has a different idea of what to do. Next time you've got a bit of free time with the family, grab the camera, pack some snacks, and pile the whole family in the car. This Missouri trail is one everyone will love.
You won't need a ton of time to explore Bethany Falls Trail, which wanders 1.3 miles through Burr Oak Woods Conservation Area in Blue Springs.
Most hikers complete this predominately tree-lined trail in about a half hour, but you might want to take it at a leisurely pace if you have the time.
Because it's such a popular trail with hikers and runners, you'll likely run into other adventurers. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on the trail or in the conservation area.
No matter what season you visit, you'll be treated to beautiful scenery - from blossoming wildflowers in the spring to colorful foliage in the fall.
Expect to share the path with some local wildlife, too. The turkeys might even pose for a photo or two.
The highlight of the trail is perhaps the limestone outcroppings, shaded by towering trees in the warmer months.
Along your journey, you'll also pass restored prairie and second-growth timber.
Grab a seat for a breather - or just to admire the views - as you make your way along the picturesque path.
