Hike To Chimney Ruins Nestled In Cave Spring Park In Missouri

When you follow this short but sweet trail that wanders through Cave Spring Park in Missouri, you’ll come across chimney ruins, a cave, and a waterfall. That’s just the beginning, too.

You won't need a ton of time to hike Chimney's Loop Trail at Cave Spring Park in Raytown. The easy trail winds just .08 of a mile.

Even though it's short and sweet, Chimney's Trail Loop is bursting with natural and manmade beauty. You don't want to forget your camera.

The trail also features a small but beautiful waterfall.

One of the highlights of the trail is the remnants of several chimneys, the sole survivors of a 1925 fire. The chimneys were part of a spring house on a dairy farm.

The spring house, which was used to store the milk from the farm's cows, caught fire in the mid-1920s. All that remains are the chimneys.

Before you set off, make sure you have plenty of water and bug spray. Poison ivy is common during the warmer months, and the trail can get really muddy after rain or snow.
