Embark on a unique experience when you visit Cave Vineyard & Distillery, in Ste. Genevieve, that's home to 14 acres of lush grapevines.
And, if you've got a sweet tooth, stop by the Biscotti Bar, open from April through November. There, try an assortment of flavors , such as chocolate chocolate chip, Grandma's almond, and gingerbread.
Then, with wine and biscotti in hand - and maybe a picnic basket, if you brought lunch along - begin the picturesque stroll to the Saltpeter Cave. Along the way, stomp on a few grapes at the photo opp station.
Find a seat in the Saltpeter Cave, which holds around 100 guests. While not much is known about the cave's backstory, it was used in the 1700s to mine Potassium Nitrate (commonly known as Saltpeter.)
Plan a visit to Cave Vineyard, open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from November through March and daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from April through October.
