A Carpenter Gothic-Style Chapel, The Little Church In Mississippi Is Steeped In History And Charm
Mississippi’s small town gems come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, including charming little chapels, like Church of Our Saviour (or The Little Church as it’s often referred to). Its adorable appearance is only part of its allure, though. Dating back to the 1800s, it’s steeped in as much history as charm. Take a look:
Arguably one of the state’s most delightful chapels, Church of Our Saviour is tucked away in the tiny town of Iuka.
Maintaining the historic little chapel is an on-going process – and something that’s always been made a priority. In 1992, Iuka Heritage, Inc. was acknowledged by the Mississippi Historical Society for “the excellent restoration” of the church.
Recently, Church of Our Saviour received a grant from the Mississippi Hills Heritage Area Alliance, which will be used to keep the building viable for future use.
