Typically, a fish house isn’t known for its incredible steak, but there are exceptions to every rule – and in this case, the exception is Luckey’s Fish House. The small-town eatery serves up some tasty catfish; however, customers rave about more than the perfectly fried fish. Many claim the fish house serves some of the best steaks in the area. Take a look:
Like many of the state’s culinary gems, Luckey’s Fish House is located in a small town. You’ll find it in Mize, which is home to just over 300.
Despite Luckey’s small town locale, the parking lot is often packed, which is a tell-tale sign of a great eatery in rural Mississippi.
Now, it's not fine dining, so don't expect anything fancy. You can expect a great meal, though.
From the name, you’d probably expect to find some tasty fish at Luckey’s – and you will. The restaurant serves up fried catfish (whole and filets) along with other seafood.
But the tasty fare doesn’t end there.
The menu also includes steaks, which are arguably some of the best around.
In addition to a 12 oz. and 16 oz. ribeye, the menu features an 8 oz. flat iron steak. With three steaks on the menu, the steak selection isn’t huge, but it’s enough to impress diners, who rave about the perfectly grilled cuts of meat.
Regardless of which steak you order, it’ll be joined by fries or a baked potato, salad, and Texas toast.
The hearty steak dinners are sure to hit the spot. But you don’t have to forgo the surf just because you choose to indulge on the turf. Simply add some shrimp to your steak dinner.
Luckey’s Fish House is open Thursday – Saturday 5 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. For more information, call (601) 782-5590. You can also visit Luckey’s Fish House Facebook page.
This isn’t the only place you’ll find a great steak. Read about another here.
